Fellowships and Grants

Media Fellowships on Health Performance, Association of Health Care Journalists and The Commonwealth Fund
Eligibility: Applicants who have interesting or unique projects in mind for their news outlets (or for freelancers, potential news outlets) that hold the promise of informing and educating the public.
Deadline: Nov. 4, 2011
From the Website: "The AHCJ Media Fellowships on Health Performance will enable health care journalists to examine local health care systems to determine what makes them effective or ineffective in delivering the right care at the right time, at the right price for as many people as possible. This year-long program, supported by The Commonwealth Fund, will allow four fellows to continue in their current jobs, while offering support to complete significant and unique reporting projects during 2012. Guidance will be provided through two seminars, consultations with AHCJ fellowship leaders and conference networking. Financial support will allow fellows to complete site visits for interviewing relevant stakeholders, to collect data relevant to the health systems and to employ any technology to deliver multiplatform stories."

Program: The workshop will take place Oct. 27-28 in San Francisco, CA, and will provide resources, skills and ideas that journalists can apply to their jobs immediately.
