David Chatfield is executive director of Californians for Pesticide Reform, a grassroots coalition working to reform statewide pesticide policies and practices. CPR works closely with the Pesticide Action Network North America (PANNA), which is part of an international coalition fighting for pesticide reform. Chatfield provides strategic direction for CPR, engages in campaign work and leads fundraising efforts. Prior to joining CPR in 1997, Chatfield was the California director of Clean Water Action.

Dr. Curren Warf is the medical director of the Youth Health staff and division head of Adolescent Medicine at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver, B.C. Previously, he was a pediatrician and specialist in adolescent medicine at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. He was chair of the Adolescent Health Committee of the Los Angeles area chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of both the Adolescent and Child Abuse Special Interest Sections of the AAP. Over 10 years, he developed expertise working with child and adolescent victims of child abuse and youth in very high-risk environments. Warf was medical director of the High Risk Youth Program for homeless and runaway youth in Hollywood and surrounding communities.

Chris Van Gorder is president and CEO of Scripps Health, a nonprofit, integrated health care delivery system with five acute-care hospitals, Scripps Clinic, an ambulatory care network, more than 2,600 affiliated physicians, and a staff of 10,000. Van Gorder is board-certified in healthcare management and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He also is a member of the California Hospital Association board of directors and immediate past chair of the Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties.

Prior to coming to Penn in 1994, Caplan taught at the University of Minnesota, the University of Pittsburgh, and Columbia University.

Dr. Alan Garber is the founding director of both the Center for Health Policy (CHP) and the Center for Primary Care and Outcomes Research (PCOR) at Stanford University, where he is the Henry J. Kaiser Jr. Professor; a professor of medicine; and professor, by courtesy, of economics and of health research and policy. His research focuses on methods for improving health care delivery and financing, particularly for the elderly, in settings of limited resources.
