Dr. Lee is director of UC Berkeley's Center on the Economics and Demography of Aging, one of 11 centers established by the National Institute on Aging that form part of the national infrastructure for developing the emerging field of the demography of aging. Dr. Lee is the author of numerous articles, papers and publications.

Dr. Kenneth Arrow is the Joan Kenney professor of economics and professor of operations research, emeritus; a fellow with the Center for Health Policy (CHP) and the Center for Primary Care and Outcomes Research (PCOR) at Stanford University; and a Stanford Insitute for International Studies (SIIS) senior fellow by courtesy.

Dr. Benjamin is a physician with over 20 years of experience in public policy development, management of health systems and clinical care. He is the former secretary of the Maryland Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, former health commissioner (acting) and director of emergency medical services for the District of Columbia, former chief of emergency medicine at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Brian D. Smedley, Ph. D., is vice president and director of the Health Policy Institute at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. He oversees all operations of the institute, which explores disparities in health and makes recommendations on how to resolve these concerns. Mr. Smedley was formerly the research director and co-founder for The Opportunity Agenda, a communication, research and advocacy organization.
