Ellen Wu is executive director of the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network, an Oakland-based organization working to improve access to health care and eliminate health disparities by advocating for public policies and resources to address the health needs of communities of color. Wu has worked with culturally diverse, low-income and uninsured people for over 10 years.
E. Richard Brown, Ph.D. is the founder and director of the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research and a professor at the UCLA School of Public Health. Professor Brown has studied and written extensively on disadvantaged populations' access to health care. His studies of health insurance coverage, the uninsured and eligibility for public programs have been used by California's governors, legislators and advocates in crafting health insurance legislation and programs.
Dylan H. Roby is a research scientist for the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research and an assistant researcher in the Department of Health Services in the UCLA School of Public Health. He is project director for a study of access to medical treatment in the California workers' compensation system and is also a co-investigator for a Medi-Cal disease management pilot program evaluation for the California Department of Health Services.
Dr. Beate Ritz is a professor in the department of epidemiology and environmental health at the UCLA School of Public Health, and in the department of neurology at the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine. Ritz is also a member of the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, the NIEHS-UCLA-USC Environmental Health Science Center, and a participant in the UCLA EPA-Particle Center effort. She is the co-director of the NIEHS-funded UCLA Center for Gene-Environment Studies in Parkinson's Disease.
