Lynn Hallarman, M.D., is an independent journalist, physician, and the founder and former director of Palliative Care at Stony Brook Medicine. Her reporting examines inequities in caregiving, along with health science essays published in Aeon, The New York Times, The Guardian, and The Boston Globe. She also covers the environment and politics for TBR News Media in Setauket, New York. Hallarman is the first-place winner of the 2025 New York Press Association Award for local reporting of coverage of a major flooding event.
