As a council member, Ms. Land's main concerns have been tenants' rights, the creation and maintenance of affordable housing, economic development, social services, and environmental issues. Prior to her appointment as co-chief executive officer of the the Los Angeles Free Clinic in 2003, Ms. Land served as the clinic's chief development and external affairs officer since 1997.
