Angelo Logan

Co-Executive Director
East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice

Angelo Logan co-founded the East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice in 2002, at a time of growing community concern about the Port of Los Angeles' new inter-modal facility and the large expansion in port traffic it would bring. The East Yard community-based organization educates and trains local residents so that they can engage in the decision-making processes that directly impact the health and quality of life in their neighborhoods. A former mechanic for a local aerospace company, Mr. Logan says he became a community activist and organizer because of his concerns about the community health impacts of truck and train traffic to the Port of Los Angeles. He is a native of the neighboring city of Commerce.
