Jerry Cadotte is executive director of Sierra HOPE (Health Opportunities, Programs and Education), an outreach program serving HIV/AIDS and hepatitis patients in Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties. Formerly known as Sierra Health Resources, Sierra HOPE was founded in 1990 in Sonora, Calif., by concerned citizens, including health professionals and family members of people living with AIDS. Sierra HOPE's prevention education programs address the full range of sexually transmitted diseases as well as HIV/AIDS and hepatitis.
