Biography
Sandra McNeill has served as executive director of the Figueroa Corridor Community LandTrust since July 2007. Ms. McNeill returned to her home in the Figueroa Corridor in 2006 to work with the Land Trust after living in Oaxaca, Mexico. In 1995, she worked with other community activists to found Strategic Actions for a Just Economy (SAJE). Her years at SAJE included her role as the founding organizer of the Figueroa Corridor Coalition for Economic Justice. She has led campaigns challenging the developers of Staples Center and LA Live Sports and Entertainment District ‐‐ the University of Southern California and the City of Los Angeles' Community Redevelopment Agency – in order to create more equitable development plans for the Figueroa Corridor neighborhoods. She holds a master's degree in urban planning from UCLA anda bachelor's degree in political science and Spanish literature from Williams College.
