Sheridan Miyamoto is a registered nurse health coach at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Previously, she was a nurse-practitioner for the UC Davis Medical Center's Child and Adolescent Abuse, Resource, Evaluation (CAARE) Diagnostic and Treatment Center. In that position, she coordinated and oversaw a program that provided physical exams for children and teens who have been sexually abused, physically abused or neglected, sometimes as a result of drug abuse in the home. As a member of the Sacramento County Drug-Endangered Children's Task Force, she was part of a medical team that sees children from throughout Northern California, and she conducted drug-testing of Sacramento-area children exposed to powder residues from drugs used at home by other family members. She graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor's degree in psychology and from Vanderbilt University with an M.S. in nursing. She completed her pediatric evidentiary exam training at UC Davis Medical Center.
