Biography

Steven Debuskey is executive director of the Fresno Native American Health Center (FNAHC), a nonprofit community-based organization serving the health care needs of urban Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Fresno. The center was established in 2003 and includes a diabetic clinic, health promotion and maintenance services, fitness and nutritional education, talking circles, health screenings, clinical assessments and referrals to primary and specialty health care services, health benefits coordination, medical case management, community outreach, mental health and alcohol/substance abuse counseling.

The Center for Health Journalism’s 2023 National Fellowship will provide $2,000 to $10,000 reporting grants, five months of mentoring from a veteran journalist, and a week of intensive training at USC Annenberg in Los Angeles from July 16-20.
