Albert Woodward
health economist, largely retired
About Myself:
I’ve been involved in health care since 1971, the year the book, The American Health Empire, came out (it’s now mostly forgotten, but it was perhaps the first radical critique of the powerful interests that control health care in the U.S.). I started Wharton graduate school the fall of that year. After my Wharton MBA and a couple of years working in the field, I got a doctorate in economics with a dissertation on profitability in the U.S. health insurance industry. I’ve spent my career in public health services research. I write a blog on health care periodically at albertwoodward.wordpress.com
