Daniel McDonald serves as the scientific director of the American Gut Project. He previously worked as a programmer analyst at the Knight Lab through UC San Diego. McDonald received his P.H.d. in computer science at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he studied the microbiome under the mentorship of Dr. Rob Knight.
