2007 Mogens Schou Award for Public Service - awarded by Seventh International Conference on Bipolar Disorder

Since 2001, the International Conference on Bipolar Disorder, which brings together the world's leading bipolar researchers every two years, has presented awards in three categories: Research, Education, and Public Service. The awards are presented in recognition of the late Danish psychiatrist, Mogens Schou, who pioneered lithium treatment, thereby saving thousands of lives and improving the lives of many millions more. Dr Schou was the recipient of the first award. I am the first recipient to be recognized for my journalism.
