About Myself:
Ryan White serves as the content editor of Center for Health Journalism Digital, for which he also writes the Children’s Health Matters blog. The blog focuses on new research, policies and journalism surrounding early childhood and adolescent health.
Since graduating from UC Berkeley, Ryan has reported widely on the environment, local politics, urban planning, affordable housing and public health issues throughout the Bay Area and Los Angeles. In the past, he’s worked on KQED’s public television program “This Week in Northern California,” served as the editor of the Alameda Sun, and worked as a reporter and editor for Marinscope Community Newspapers, a group of six weeklies covering California’s Marin County. As a freelancer, he’s contributed to a long list of outlets, including Fast Company, Popular Science, and the North Bay Bohemian. Ryan is also a former fellow of the California Endowment Health Journalism Fellowships, during which he reported a project looking at the hard lives of boat dwellers living afloat in Sausalito’s Richardson Bay.
