Sylvie is a broadcast and digital reporter for Civic, an investigative podcast and radio show that airs on the San Francisco Public Press radio station KSFP-LP 102.5 FM. Before moving to San Francisco in 2014, Sylvie spent 12 years as a writer and editor in Canada, earning awards from the Canadian Community Newspapers Association and the BC Yukon Community Newspapers Association. Since joining Civic at SF Public Press in January 2022, Sylvie’s investigations have covered the decision to shut down the largest skilled nursing facility in the Western United States, increased HIV rates in the wake of COVID, and the way family courts treat cases involving domestic abuse and child abuse. Sylvie also teaches media at San Francisco State University and serves as managing editor of Synapse, the student news outlet at the University of California San Francisco.
Sylvie earned a master’s degree in broadcast media from San Francisco State University.
