California Health Care Policy Reporter
I joined Politico in 2016 as the California health care policy reporter after writing about health for the San Francisco Chronicle beginning in 2001. Prior to joing the Chronicle, I worked for the San Francisco Examiner, the Oakland Tribune and the Stockton Record. A graduate of UC Davis, I received a masters in journalism from Columbia University and was awarded an Inter American Press Association Scholarship to Venezuela and a Fulbright Scholarship for professional journalists to Spain. I was a 2009 National Fellow and received a reporting grant from the Dennis A. Hunt Fund for Health Journalism.
