Fellowships & Educational Opportunities

AHCJ Annual Awards

Information: This competition has many categories. First-place winners earn $500 and a framed certificate. They also receive complimentary lodging for two nights and registration for the annual conference, April 20-23, 2017, in Orlando. Winners are recognized at the annual awards luncheon and first-place winners are encouraged to appear on panels to discuss their winning work. It costs $50 for members and $75 for nonmembers to enter.

Photography and Social Justic Fellowship, Magnum Foundation
Information: Magnum Foundation’s Photography and Social Justice Program supports and trains early career and emerging photographers, artists, journalists, scholars, and activists who are passionate about challenging injustice, pursuing social equality, and advancing human rights through photography.

Information: The ASNE Awards, one of the few journalism contests in which news organizations of all sizes compete on equal footing, are now accepting entries. New to this year's awards are the new software that is more user-friendly, as well as the updated rules and categories that make the contest more competitive.

RJI Fellowship, Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute
Information: RJI is giving special consideration this year to ideas and projects focused on solving problems created by filter bubbles, fake news and mistrust of the news media; however, we also invite submission of other ideas and projects that could strengthen democracy through better journalism.

Information: The NIHCM Foundation Health Care Print Journalism Awards recognize excellence in health care reporting and writing on the financing and delivery of health care and the impact of health care policy.
