I am a freelance photographer and multimedia journalist in Oakland, CA. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with double majors in Journalism and English. After graduation, I spent six weeks working on a multimedia documentary project in the Atacama Desert in Chile, and then spent the next 2.5 years interning at five major news publications throughout the country. I became a full-time freelancer at the end of 2008 and regularly shoot assignments for clients such as the Wall Street Journal, Chronicle of Higher Education and Associated Press. I enjoy working on long-term projects that tell meaningful stories, create awareness and hopefully inspire change for the better, particularly ones that are within my Oakland community.
