Associate Professor

I am an epidemiologist and Associate Professor at Geisinger, a large integrated health system in Pennsylvania, and serve as a member of the Delaware County Board of Health. With more than fifteen years of experience working with health system data, I have studied novel applications of electronic health record data for epidemiologic and health services research. As the co-director of the Geisinger-Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Environmental Health Institute, I leverage health system data to study social and environmental determinants of health and conduct disease surveillance, with a focus on chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. More recently my work has expanded to studying coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). My research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and foundation grants.
