Caitlin Schmidt is the Arizona Daily Star's health and social services reporter and solutions coordinator, ensuring regular coverage by the Star of the people, programs and processes working to solve problems and make Southern Arizona a better place. She was previously the Star's solutions reporter and has also covered public safety, local government, courts, criminal justice and sports for the Star. Caitlin has written dozens of stories about gender-based violence and won multiple awards for her public records-based reporting and investigations involving Title IX issues. She's an adjunct instructor at the University of Arizona School of Journalism and serves on the boards of the National Sports Media Association, Arizona Press Club and Association for Women in Sports Media.
