After 25 years of coaching college women's basketball, I returned to my roots in journalism to cover health, eucation, fitness and travel for three years for The Eureka Reporter in California. The North Coast daily folded in November 2009, propelling me into a freelance world with a focus on senior issues and rural health care. I completed an undergraduate degree in political science at UC Davis and earned a graduate degree in journalism from UC Berkeley. As for interests: golf, wine, politics, reading, travel and gardening are now having to make room for birdwatching.
