Chloe Shrager is the courts and crimes reporter at the San Luis Obispo Tribune. She graduated from Stanford with a bachelor’s degree in political science, previously covering politics and county government at The Tribune. She earned three California Journalism Awards for her coverage on that beat, including a first place award for her reporting on county LGBTQAI+ policy, and second and fourth place awards for her local election coverage, as well as a McClatchy Mosaic Award for her reporting on transgender rights and policies under the second Trump administration. She also writes about nuclear risk and radiation for the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists and published an investigative feature on the U.S. nuclear testing legacy in the Marshall Islands with Inkstick Media in 2023. She previously reported breaking news for the San Francisco Chronicle.
