How to Make a Gift to the Center for Health Journalism

Giving online through USC’s Central Giving Portal:
Step 1: Navigate to the USC Central Giving Portal by clicking here.
Note: Clicking this link will redirect you off of centerforhealthjournalism.org.
Step 2: Scroll down the webpage until you see the giving options below. Choose whether you are making a one-time or recurring gift. 
Step 3: Most importantly, to ensure that your gift reaches the Center for Health Journalism, click on the check box for the “USC Center for Health Journalism Gift Fund.” Do not select the option “Please direct my gift to a specific school or program” or you will be prompted to search for an alternative organization. Then, click “Next page” as indicated by the red arrow to proceed to the next step.
Step 4: In this next step, you will be prompted to enter your gift amount. Click inside the field next to the first red arrow below to type in the amount. After you enter your gift amount and optional memorial or honorarium information, click on “Next Page” as indicated by the second red arrow below to proceed to the next step. Note: You may arrange to have an honoree notified by clicking the small circle next to “Notify this person of the gift” and entering the relevant information to do so.
Step 5: In this next step, you will be prompted to enter your donor information. For USC affiliation, your most likely choice will be “friend,” but you can also select Alumni, Parent, Faculty, Staff or Student. You may also choose to include a business address if the gift represents your business organization. Click on “Next Page” as indicated by the last red arrow to proceed to the next step.
Step 6: In this next step, a brief overview of your gift will be provided. Please take a moment to review the payment details and amount and ensure they are correct. Check that the portal indicates that your gift will go to the USC Center for Health Journalism Gift Fund. Ensure that the correct type of gift is indicated as “new gift,” “recurring gift,” “payment on an existing pledge’ or “payroll deduction.” If you need to make any changes, you can click on the text indicated by the red arrows to add or edit the information. Scroll down the webpage to proceed to the next step.
Step 7: Review your billing information for errors. The text fields, shown below, are auto-populated with the information that you provided. If you need to edit any information, click in the text field that requires changes. Scroll down the webpage to proceed to the next step.
Step 8: In this next step, you will be prompted to enter your credit card information. Scroll down the webpage to proceed to the next step.
CAUTION: Do not click “Pay” before reviewing Step 9.
Step 9: Review the information at the bottom of the webpage. After you have double-checked to see that the payment details and billing information are correct, proceed to click “Pay.”*
*By clicking “Pay,” you agree that you have reviewed the information and it is true and correct. No changes can be made after submission.
