Cynthia Craft

As an experienced journalist in online, magazine, digital content and newspaper editor, writer and reporter I've focused in the past decade on health-care areas of coverage. For the McClatchy Co.'s Sacramento Bee, I successfully wrote a grant for three-years of coverage from the California Endowment. I am a member of the Association of Health Care Journalists; have won and completed competitive fellowships from AHCJ, the Kaiser Family Foundation, the Knight Foundation International Journalists Fellowship program (which stationed me in Peru, where I lived for three years, training journalists in ethics and multimedia). Awards include two Pulitzer prizes as a member of Los Angeles Times Spot News coverage team, earned on two different breaking news stories. Also, myself and my co-editor were bestowed with the Sigma Delta Chi National Excellence Award for a special section on immigration reform we co-edited. Currently, I am focusing on unearthing and reporting investigative-style health-care stories that shine a light on the work that's yet to be done in heath care reform in terms of accessibility and affordability. In addition, I completed the 2013 Summer Multimedia Story-telling Workshop at University of California at Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism, Knight Digital Multimedia Center.
