Lindsay Patton

Lindsay Patton is a communications professional whose experience is rooted in journalism. After receiving her journalism degree, Lindsay spent seven years as a full-time reporter and editor, planning monthly content and reporting on local entertainment at a Grand Rapids, Mich. publication. She has since added adjunct business professor, podcast host, social media strategist and digital marketer to her skill set and launched her own business, Blackstar Communications. (A nod to David Bowie, her favorite artist.) Her favorite projects involve advocacy, and she often works with nonprofits and programs for good to boost their digital presence. After a string of exploitative work environments, Lindsay launched a professional Instagram account (@BlackstarCommunications) to champion for business practices rooted in empathy. In her free time, Lindsay loves making art for her loved ones, hanging out with her family (including two very active senior dogs!) and listening to as much music as possible.
