Senior Health: Budget cuts to adult day care programs are forcing seniors into more expensive nursing home care, Emily Bazar of the California HealthCare Foundation Center for Health Reporting writes.

Health Reform: More young adults than expected – some 600,000 – have enrolled in their parents' health insurance plans, Phil Galewitz reports for Kaiser Health News. Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, young people can remain on their parents' plans until age 26.

Heart Health: A new study suggests that your waist size is even more important than your weight in determining your risk for heart disease, Ron Winslow reports for The Wall St. Journal.

Outbreak: One woman's undiagnosed and highly contagious case of measles resulted in 363 probable new infections and thousands of health care workers needing to be reimmunized against the vaccine-preventable disease. It also cost two local hospitals a bundle, according to a report in the Journal of Infectious Diseases.
