2013 National Health Journalism Fellowship, USC Annenberg
Eligibility: Professional journalists from print, broadcast, and online media through the United States, including freelancers. Applicants do not need to be full-time health reporters, but should have a demonstrated interest in health issues, broadly defined to include the health of communities. Freelancers should earn the majority of their income from journalism. A minimum of three years' reporting experience is preferred.

From the Website: The National Health Journalism Fellowships program offers journalists an opportunity to explore the intersection between community health, health policy and the nation's growing diversity during a five days of intensive, all-expenses-paid training in Los Angeles. Reporting projects are supported with a $2,000 grant to each Fellowship recipient.

From the Website: The Dennis A. Hunt Fund for Health Journalism provides grants of up to $10,000 for reporting on critical health issues facing underserved communities. Hunt grantees also take part in the all-expenses-paid 5-day National Health Journalism Fellowship, July 14-18 in Los Angeles.
The 11th Hour Food and Farming Journalism Fellowship, UC Berkeley
From the Website: "Aimed at early and mid-career journalists, the Fellowship presents an opportunity to report ambitious longform stories on the full range of subjects under the rubric of food systems: agricultural and nutritional policy, the food industry, food science, technology and culture, rural and urban farming, agriculture and the environment (including climate change), global trade and supply chains, consolidation and securitization of the food system and public health as it relates to food and farming."

Eligibility: The fellowship is open to both print and radio journalists. Online applications are due April 1, 2013, and should include a one-page pitch with a clearly defined story idea, not just a subject.
The Rosalynn Carter Fellowships For Mental Health Journalism, The Carter Center
From the Website: The goal of the Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism is to enhance public understanding of mental health issues and combat stigma and discrimination against people with mental illnesses. Working journalists tackle timely and unique topics in the field of mental health.
Deadline: April 15, 2013
Eligibility: Applicants must have at least three years of professional journalism experience and submit a full fellowship application. Recipients must attend meetings at The Carter Center in September at the beginning and end of the fellowship year.
