Interested in the latest research on antibiotic resistance and infectious diseases? Good news: The Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP) has a wealth of online resources to offer health reporters who would like to learn more about these topics.
CDDEP is an independent non-profit organization that produces new actionable, policy-oriented research in the field of global health. Our research employs a variety of expertise - including economics, epidemiology, disease modeling, risk analysis, and statistics - to study malaria, antibiotic resistance, disease control priorities, environmental health, and various other topics.
If you’re new to our work, here’s a brief overview of the resources available on our website:
ResistanceMap: A dynamic mapping tool that tracks antibiotic use and resistance patterns in the U.S., ResistanceMap is the first of its kind when it comes to visualizing these trends. CDDEP is upgrading the ResistanceMap interface, so please check back for updates coming this fall.
Publications: Our online publication archive is searchable and can be sorted by region and research topic. Recent papers investigate issues such as malaria resurgence, strategies to minimize healthcare-associated infections, and drug resistance in the developing world.

Tools and Visualizations: Every other week CDDEP posts a new infographic drawn from our research (or sometimes that of others). Our visualizations are published on the CDDEP blog under a Creative Commons license, so bloggers are free to repost them as long as they are attributed. You can find them all here.
Blog/Newsletters: Our blog is where we post news stories and other announcements, in addition to the graphics. We collect the latest headlines related to antibiotic resistance into a weekly digest that goes out on Fridays (you can subscribe at the bottom of this page).
