Stan Dorn

Health policy researcher

At the state and national level, I've been working on health issues affecting low-income people for more than 25 years. Currently, I'm a senior research associate at the Urban Institute, a non-partisan, non-profit research organization in D.C. Some of my past work included a stint as Health Policy Director at the Children's Defense Fund, where I headed the organization's health policy team in a major national campaign that helped enact the Children's Health Insurance Program; Managing Attorney at the National Health Law Program's Washington, DC, office; and Senior Policy Associate at the Economic and Social Research Institute in Washington.

<p>Before describing a few stories that have not received much play in the media, I'd like to mention a few publications by my Urban Institute colleagues that provide useful state and local information.
