Suzette Brewer

Suzette Brewer is a freelance journalist specializing in federal Indian law and Indigenous issues, having written extensively on the Supreme Court, the Indian Child Welfare Act, environmental issues on Indian reservations, the opioid crisis, and violence against Native American women and children. She has written for National Geographic, Indian Country Today, The Dallas Morning News, The Denver Post, Rewire, and many others. Her broadcast work includes the documentary "A Broken Trust" for Scripps News Service. Her awards include the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights grand prize in journalism, the John Jay/Tow Juvenile Justice Reporting Fellowship, and the Richard LaCourse/Gannett Foundation Al Neuharth Investigative Journalism Award.
