Harvey Barkin is editor-in-chief of FilAm Star in San Francisco. He also writes for special interest group projects like PG&E’s Clean Energy, the California State Common Core Education Standards, SB 4 full-scope Medi-Cal for undocumented kids under 19 years and Santa Clara County’s Transit Justice Alliance for the 2016 Measure A. He contributed San Juan Bautista and Hollister news to BenitoLink.com, the site for San Benito County news. Previously he was a tech writer for Silicon Valley R&D and manufacturing start-ups and a book reviewer for independent publishers. His work has appeared in different media including Inside Kung-fu, advertising copy and B2B. He won the 2013 Plaridel Award for In-depth Investigative Reporting. His project for the 2017 California Fellowship is on healthcare for the undocumented.
