Lauran Neergaard

Lauran Neergaard is a medical writer for The Associated Press. She joined the AP in Atlanta in 1989, and has covered health since 1992. Based in Washington since 1993, she currently covers public health and medical research. She also is the author of the HealthBeat column, focusing on consumer medical issues. Neergaard is a 1989 graduate of the University of Georgia, where she studied journalism and global policy/Russian.
