Neha Shastry is an award winning journalist and documentary filmmaker based in New York. She is currently a reporter and producer at CNN. Her career so far has taken her on some pretty interesting journeys, from scaling mountains in West Virginia to take a look at mountaintop removal sites, to a raid of an illegal marijuana grow in the U.S National Forest, to getting an RFID chip inserted into her hand. She's won a DuPont, two Front Page Awards and an Ellie for her reporting. Prior to this gig she directed a few episodes for CNN's acclaimed documentary series This is Life with Lisa Ling, and was part of the team that launched Vice News 2013. Whilst at Vice she covered environmental issues and produced their coverage about the crisis and conflict in Ukraine.
When not traveling and holding a camera for her job, she can be found sitting on her stoop in Brooklyn.
