ReportingonHealth celebrates its two-year anniversary this week. To celebrate this milestone, we are introducing a new look – one that puts the contributions of our community members at center stage.

With our "Editor Picks," we select from the best of the blog posts, member stories, and essays published on ReportingonHealth. And the mainstay of the site, "The Latest From our Community," puts community content – and the knowledge that our members have to share – in the spotlight.

We also provide more ways for you to keep track of the ReportingonHealth community, and each other, with sections of our site devoted to ROH content on Facebook and Twitter. Those new features recognize all the different ways that our readers and contributors keep track of the world these days.  Lastly, we have created a "popular content" section so that you know what your colleagues value on our site.

Given that anniversaries are often the moment for reflection, I also have a confession to make. When we launched ReportingonHealth, in March 2009, we saw ReportingonHealth as a community, but one where we largely provided the wisdom to an eager audience of journalists.

We owe a debt of gratitude to BlogHer Co-Founder Lisa Stone, one of our early program advisers, for setting us straight. We quickly took down all of our fences. To our great pleasure, we were rewarded by the addition of many new voices to our site – people like R. Jan Gurley, a physician who now is blogging regularly for us and Michael Sholinbeck, a University of California-Berkeley librarian in the School of Public Health.

These community member blog posts have become some of the most compelling content on our site. But until now, those posts were relegated to a small corner of the ReportingonHealth home page, even as our philosophy had changed. With the redesign, our look aligns with our priorities.

Please share your comments with us below about our new look. Your views will shape our plans to improve the site going forward.
