Rong Xiaoqing is a reporter for the Chinese-language newspaper Sing Tao Daily, where she has been writing about the Chinese community in the United States since 2002. She has won multiple awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, New America Media and CUNY Journalism School. She was the first reporter from a non-English language ethnic media to win an award from the Deadline Club (2014) and an Alicia Patterson Fellowship (2019). She was a grant recipient of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and the Fund for Investigative Journalism. She also contributes to various English-language media outlets. Her articles have appeared in Foreign Policy, The Nation, The New York Times, New York magazine and Wired, among others.
