Jackson Hudgins is a freelance writer and video journalist based in Los Angeles. He previously was a producer for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt. His California Health Equity Fellowship project will investigate how the toxic legacy of DDT manufacturing in Southern California threatens the health of tens of thousands of LA County’s vulnerable subsistence fishermen today–the vast majority immigrants and people of color–who rely on what they catch to help feed themselves and their families.
