MarlaMiller.com’s Marketing the Muse workshops zoom in on platform building strategies that revolve around social media platforms. She teaches at several writers conferences including The Santa Barbara Writers ConferenceThe Southern California Writers Conference and The Writers Digest Conference.  Miller's first book was published by Simon & Schuster. For 18 years, she penned three columns for the Orange County Register. She was founding editor-in-chief of a quarterly Southern California  lifestyle magazine. For eight years, she co-hosted a public radio talk show and interviewed many authors including Ray Bradbury and Joe Wambaugh.  Her video quick query critiques are offered free at MarlaMiller.com. She's written for several national magazines including The Writers Digest and The Writer Magazine where she penned three series including an ongoing video series, Critique My Query. In addition to teaching MarketingtheMuse workshops, Miller also moderates writing conference panels that include literary agents and platform building experts. 'Indie Authors' was Miller's weekly Google + TV show that spotlighting entrepreneurial authors publishing 21st century-style.  In 2013, Miller successfully funded her novel, Deadly Little Secrets, at Kickstarter and published this mainstream e-novel about the early years of the AIDS crisis in late 2013. In 2014, she launched Literary Salon: Learning Prose From Pros simply because too many indie authors are in too big of a hurry to publish.
