Awards and Fellowships
2014 MetLife Foundation Journalists in Aging Fellows Program, The Gerontological Society of America
From the website: The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and New America Media (NAM) are welcoming applications — from journalists who cover issues in aging and/or who work for ethnic media outlets serving U.S. communities.
Deadline: July 1, 2013
Requirements: Selected Fellows will attend GSA’s 2013 Annual Scientific Meeting, which is taking place in New Orleans from Wednesday, November 20, to Sunday, November 24. Each Fellow will be expected to participate in a special one-day preconference session (Wednesday, November 20) and at least two days of general meeting sessions (Thursday, November 21, and Friday, November 22). Fellows will also commit to completing one short-term story about any aspect of the meeting and a long-term in-depth project of their own design. The latter must be outlined in a one-to-two page proposal.
