Native Texan, current Chicagoan and future Angeleno I've been shooting professionally for over 20 years, most of that time based in Chicago. My work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time, ProPublica and numerous publications. Recently my photography has been on display at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., as part of an exhibit about Matthew Desmond's book, "Evicted."Last fall, work I've shot for a non-profit healthcare organization took first place in an international photography contest in Italy and was on display at the Festival for Ethical Photography. In addition to my editorial and non-profit documentary work, I also teach photojournalism and multimedia journalism at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
