Brooke Holland joined Pacific Coast Business Times in August 2021 after working for five years as a general assignment reporter and photographer for Noozhawk, an online newspaper based in Santa Barbara County. She was a 2020 Center for Health Journalism Data Fellow. Before joining Noozhawk in 2016, she graduated from Cal State Northridge with a degree in journalism. She worked as editor in chief and managing editor of The Sundial student newspaper. Under her leadership as the managing editor, the Sundial won the first place award from the California College Media Association for best newspaper in the 2016 weekly division. A native of California, she got her start in journalism in 2013 by writing for The Channels, a Santa Barbara City College student publication. She worked as the features editor in 2014. She won first place in video journalism from the Journalism Association of Community Colleges in 2014.
