How to help address homelessness and addiction in MacArthur Park

You can help address the fentanyl and homelessness crisis in MacArthur Park by donating to or volunteering with the following local organizations.

Humankind LA: This nonprofit organization is dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness around MacArthur Park connect with housing and other resources. You can donate via Zelle to jhaid@humankindla.org or by purchasing supplies on the organization’s Amazon wish list, tinyurl.com/HumankindWishList. Contact jhaid@humankindla.org for information on volunteering opportunities.

Project 180: This nonprofit works with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office to help people with a criminal history access housing, mental health and substance use resources. It performs outreach in the MacArthur Park area once a week. To donate and for information on volunteer opportunities, go to project180la.com.

Depaul USA: The Casa Milagrosa day resource center, run by Depaul USA, serves homeless and low-income individuals in Westlake. It provides free breakfast, showers, case management, job training, 12-step meetings, referrals to medical services and more. The center is seeking volunteers for its food distribution service and accepting donations online and via an Amazon wish list.
