Thousands of immigrants have worked at Pilgrim’s Pride’s Moorefield poultry plant, the area’s largest employer. After arrival, they have a hard time finding affordable housing, paying rent and understanding complex immigration and benefits systems.

Ronnie Grace, an HIV advocate in Milwaukee, passed at 65 from cancer. His story fits a broader pattern of LGBTQ+ people disproportionately suffering from cancer and unequal treatment in health care systems across the country.

The new rate structure aims to separate the costs of upgrading infrastructure and maintaining the grid from the price of electricity.
