Anjana Nagarajan-Butaney is a writer for India Currents, showcasing the stories of South Asians in the United States while exploring the social and cultural impact of issues like immigration, health, social justice, politics, census, elections, technology and the arts. She is also a Producer/Founder of DesiCollective Media, creating multimedia (podcast, video and written) content that impacts the multiethnic, multicultural communities of the South Asian diaspora. Aspiring to tell the stories that challenge our preexisting notions of our world, Anjana is a creative writer who thrives on exploring human connections, like the multi-racial identity of Kamala Harris and the ancient practice of restorative justice with sujatha baliga. Starting her career as an electrical engineer, Anjana revels in the challenge of using both her analytical and creative parts of her brain to create impactful, data driven, and engaging content. Anjana holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
