Melanie Senn is an audio and print freelance journalist. She was an educator for more than two decades, including a long stint at California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo where she taught essay writing, argumentation, and reasoning. Now she’s back to her first love—journalism. Having lived in Mexico, Chile, and Argentina, she’s highly proficient in Spanish. She was a first generation college student whose family survived evictions, mental illness, and substance abuse. Melanie believes in the power of storytelling—and how hearing the stories of others, especially those of marginalized people, can expand our hearts, give us hope, and improve our communities.
